Bob Walton

Bob Walton lives on the side of a beautiful Scottish valley with his wife and four cats. At 69 years old, he has spent many years in the telecommunications industry and a brief period running his own Counselling practice, before retiring to concentrate on his first novel.
Hailing from the midlands of England Bob grew up in the shadow of a Steelworks which, until it closed, employed many of the local community including his father, who moved the family to the rural countryside of Shropshire to escape the smoke. The open space allowed the young boy to ramble afar and use his imagination to enact his many adventures.
Marrying a girl from southern England he soon upped sticks to follow a career in London and the southeast of England. Holidays experiencing travel to faraway places, allowed for real adventures at last.  Bob began his writing after settling in an old Grade 2 listed building, adjacent to an ancient woodland which allowed him to wander and conjure up new ideas and characters, until one idea took root, leading him to research a local man who was instrumental in raising several battalions of men to fight in France and Belgium in WW1. With encouragement and mentoring from two writer friends his novel took shape until an opportunity arose to publish his work.
2023 saw him and his wife make a not inconsiderable move to the Highlands of Scotland where they have set up a new home in Speyside. A far cry from East Sussex, he now spends his time exploring the rugged coasts of the northeast not far from where he lives.
